What is a Proxy Agent?

The WHOLE HOG Proxy Agent is a slim application that runs on your local computer. It’s soul purpose is to act like any posts to Facebook or Craigslist are coming from your computer’s IP address instead of our network of servers. This ensures that there are no triggers to the other softwares for auto-posting and it posts in your local market.

How do I install the Proxy Agent?

Installing on Windows:

  1. Download and install this .exe file: Whole Hog Proxy Agent-1.0.0-Setup.exe
  2. Double click the “Whole Hog Proxy Agent-1.0.0-Setup.exe” file.
  3. Windows may prompt you that Microsoft Defender SmartScreen has prevented installation. This is because the app is not a verified app in their store because it allows you to bypass Facebook’s auto-posting regulations.
    • Click “More info”
    • Click “Run anyway”
  4. Once the application has loaded, log in using the user and code either provide to you, or in your website dashboard.
  5. With the nature of this app using your IP address, your firewall may need additional permission to run the app. Allow those permissions and you’re all set.

That’s it! The WHOLE HOG Proxy Agent is up and running and will act as an in-between for our auto-posting servers and your computer. This will allow you to post to Facebook & Craigslist as if you were posting from your local computer!

Installing on Mac running OSX:

  1. Download and install this .dmg file: Whole Hog Proxy Agent-1.0.0-x64.dmg
  2. Double click the “Whole Hog Proxy Agent-1.0.0-x64.dmg” file.
  3. Drag & Drop the file into your “Applications” folder.
  4. Double click the file.
    • If you receive the message: “Whole Hog Proxy Agent.app cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified”.
    • Click “Cancel”, then navigate to the file in your “Applications” folder, right-click on the file and click “Open”.
  5. Click “Open” on the next dialogue window.
  6. Once the application has loaded, log in using the user and code either provide to you, or in your website dashboard.

That’s it! The WHOLE HOG Proxy Agent is up and running and will act as an in-between for our auto-posting servers and your computer. This will allow you to post to Facebook & Craigslist as if you were posting from your local computer!
